Behind the exhibition / concept
GALACTIX is about connecting between the multiple dimensions and worlds we experience as individuals in the universe - the contrast between being an everlasting space traveling soul with never ending perceptual potential, while longing and identifying with this physical world, and experiencing everyday emotions and memories that guide us through life as we know it.
The following text written by artist Gal Vardi is the inspiration for the first GALACTIX exhibition:

INTERNAL
To know and acknowledge one’s belonging as an individual in the galactic world can be confusing. But the truth is that your whole universe is within you. The contrast and similarities of one’s internal and external universe are never-ending. The dual emotions associating with both worlds can provoke natural intoxication and extensive (or excessive) expansion if used correctly.
The act of identifying with cultures on earth, longing to physical places, and our natural craving for Nostalgia creates a distinction within our path and directs our awareness towards what has actually happened in the past and what can happen in the future, “life as we know it”. Nostalgic experiences connect and lead us together as we create memories associated with this lifetime, one’s stomach may turn when thinking of the following: Missing home when you’re away, visiting the streets you grew up on. Falling in-love. Getting your heart broken. Being inspired by a trip, having a child, thinking of your pet. Your physical and emotional memories continue to spiral inside you and may rise at any given moment and affect your guidance system.
EXTERNAL
Yet the speedy momentum for opportunities, and the reality we create for ourselves as traveling souls can be never-ending and everlasting. , It’s sheer thoughts that steer our navigation and can take us far away beyond the atmosphere and bind with pure stardust. Our awareness is created by our emotions and thoughts, eventually turning into reality, so without being bound to one place or one time and while being in constant motion, one may fly to remote distances if choosing the coordinates correctly.
THE CONTRAST
The contrast between being a powerful, spirited space traveling soul with an eternal agenda to being a child, a parent, a person from a certain neighborhood, is what makes us human. Through the constant self reminders, we look in the mirror and turn inside for a never ending reflection of balance and trust in the positive unknown, o keep and expand the momentum of living our dreams in this physical world, as the sons and daughters of our universe.
